Collection: Dart Frogs

Discover the stunning Dendrobates tinctorius, commonly known as the Dyeing Poison Dart Frog, native to the Amazon Basin of South America, including regions of Suriname, Brazil, French Guiana and British Guyana. These vibrant amphibians inhabit tropical rainforests with dense leaf litter, high humidity, and access to small bodies of water, thriving in the humid understory where moisture and shelter are abundant. In the wild, these dart frogs feed on small arthropods including ants, termites, mites, and other tiny invertebrates found in the forest floor, with their bright coloration warning predators of their toxicity. In captivity, they prosper on a diet of appropriately-sized insects such as fruit flies, springtails, and isopods, making them manageable to feed with readily available captive-bred prey items.
